When is a loan not a loan

When it's given to a museum that's massively over budget, plans to operate deficits when it opens, and will never have the ability to pay it back.

All of Canada is paying for this shrine to the Asper family, and we are going to be stuck with a whie elephant - an ugly one at that.
Oh well I guess as long as the wine and cheese socialists have somewhere nice to make us all feel bad about ourselves.
Too bad that money wasn't used to actually help people in need, instead of cater to the rich elites like the Aspers.

  1. Isn't it odd that a columnist, Dan Left, er Lett, is the bearer of the CMHR and government 'press release' on this latest bailout? Aren't there roomfuls of communication staff that should have done their job on this file?
And wasn't it just this past March that the CMHR had a new fundraising goal of only $50M more to get-er-done?
The extra $20M is not mentioned by the columnist. We're all left hanging to guess it's real purpose.

  2. I don't get the love in for this bottomless pit. And the math on paying back this "loan" sounds more like voodoo economics to me.
